This is one of the few times I “just crewed” on a shoot, and despite my involvement being largely limited to doing manual (‘non-specialized’) labour to help achieve someone else’s vision, I am so immensely proud of having been involved in this, it belongs here.

I think when they say “captured with no effects”, they’re not counting the mixing of different video sources…?

No such mixing. Rian planned out the whole thing, then we shot the first layer, re-arranged his apartment, played that first shoot back on the HDTV as we shot the second layer. Repeat.

Yeah, he’s kind of a genius or something.
